I really like the way that she is the anchor for movement in the whole shot, and obviously she's the only one standing still... but that's not the only reason it's effective -- the great texture of the room, the expression on her face, the amount you left the shutter open is perfect to get just enough movement but not TOO much, and lastly the look on her face is just priceless... almost pitying the people in such a hurry behind her.

Awesome, man!

...anyone is welcome to enter my gallery

Nice shot! It's one of those rebellious shots that has a lot of character, and having it set in a cathedral makes a huge statement.

Which cathedral is it though?

well, i fully disagree with the commenter that said turn her right and natural.
i think this is done well - posed, timed shot in the middle of "chaos".
i almost makes no sense to think that you could make her look natural, unless she was sitting down somewhere.
so anyways, i think the comp is good :)
i know what you mean about seeing things in B/W beforehand, but with all the channel mixing, curves, and conversion techniques, its hard to get a grasp on whats possible sometimes :)

hmmm the shot looks a bit too posed for my liking, but the concept is good.

Enjoy the picrture...or your sister? ;-) hehe, only joking...please don't kill me.

Seriously tho, this is a really cool picture. Did you just have her stand still for a long exposure? If so, she is surprisingly in focus. Whatever you did, it worked out beautifully. The contrast is excelent. :D

Super fotka!

Tko nekak mi da feeling, da na tem svetu
ljudje nimajo veè èasa, da neprestano hitijo
in ne opazijo nekoga, ki bi morda rad samo
kakšno toplo besedo ali ramo, da se
razjoèe na njej.

in fact i dont feel so good at such solutions.
i should learn to see black anf white photos already at taking shots...and not at proccesing.

Interesting consept, but I think it would've been better if the people behind her were even more blurry.
The high contrast fits it well though :)

Beautifully composed, very classic looking, specially with the slow shutter. Nice work. :)
Wish more of those people were moving.

Her expressions irresistably reminds me of Amelie Poulin ...and the entire scene is so cinematographic....

A little girl with all her hopes and dreams, still for a moment with her thoughts, will the entire world passes her by.

Magical lighting in this long exposure
