When civil war broke out in Southern Verusa in 1959 the republic backed Forces of Southern Verusa were ill equipped to deal with the swift onslaught of the communist Northern Verusa. The Osean Federation quickly lent aid to the Southern Forces including North American T-28D Trojan aircraft seeking to contain the communist advance. As the conflict escalated Osea began to send advisors to the war torn nation in hopes of providing better equipment and training to the Southern Verusa military. In 1965 the first fully equipped batalion of Osean soldiers arrived in country. In 1965 the Osean 41st Air Commando Squadron began operations for Tarluke Airbase with their T-28Ds for counter insurgency and close air support operations. Many T-28s flew in Verusa colors with pilots often wearing civilian garb and using Verusa callsigns. In 1968 Osea intiated a secret operation to infiltrate Eastern Verusa known as Scrub Burner. Osean forces succesfully attacked and stopped Northern Forces utilizing the Eastern Verusa highlands as cover into the Southern Verusa. North American T-28Ds were among the aircraft used in the week long operation.
