“So do you think he has a chance at winning this time?”, Minou asked her Grandfather, while he led Proletarian to the saddling area.

“He did really well in the Preakness and if we would have had a bit more Luck he maybe would have been first instead of second. But who knows?”, George answered. “He definitely has the potential to win the last leg of the Triple Crown. I really think that the distance shouldn’t be a problem, even so his pedigree has mostly sprinters in him. Because of his laziness he needs a bit of time to get speed, so he would always be dead last in the sprints. And that’s the reason why we began to train his condition already in the early stages. You know when I asked you to ride one of our horses and to pony him, to go a big round in the forest and every time I asked to gallop longer and sometimes even faster? That was all to get him used to longer distances.”

“But we did that when he was just 20 months old.”, Minou said.

“Yes, it is best to train condition in young and at that time we didn’t ride, so it was good in many ways. He got condition, learned to run and built muscles. It is a good way to start a young horse. It is better to build muscles before you really start to ride a horse.”

Pierre came with the saddle and the saddle cloth.

“You ready?”, Minou asked.

“Yes, I already mentally prepared myself to not panic when he doesn’t go from the start. You have to know closers aren’t my favorite ride. It isn’t good for my mind, but I think I get used to the Punk's style and hopefully we will have better timing this time.”, the Jockey answered.

“Your timing wasn’t bad last time, we just forgot that Connachan hadn’t done her move yet and when she did you both weren’t ready for that. I also thought for a second this could be his race. And it was one of his best, you can’t say anything about that. And don’t forget, his sire ran till he was five and his mother did even ran her last two races when she was seven. Neela really began to do great since the middle of her four year old career. I think this boy will get even better with age.”, Minou’s Grandpa answered, while he saddled Tari.

“How long will the color in his tail hold?”, he asked Minou while he scratched the colt's neck.

“Well I think it could be longer in his tail than average, you have to consider that we don’t wash his tail that often. And don’t worry, I will make sure he has a colored streak for his whole racing career, Grandpa.”, Minou grinned at him.

“Well, it is unique. I wouldn’t be surprised when his fans begin to color their hair green too.”, Pierre laughed. George helped him to get on Proletarians back. “Anything I have to watch out to?”

“Nah, we already discussed everything and you know the Punk.”

“What is? Why are you grinning Minou?”

“You called him Punk, Grandpa, you called Proletarian ‘the Punk’”
