My Bio

Hi there!

After spending 8+ years in an art hiatus, it feels good to be back as an artist! I mostly drew traditionally for the majority of my life, but in December 2019 I transitioned into digital art.

I'm trying to be a well-rounded artist so I rotate between painting portraits, animals, and landscape with some occasional abstract art. My favorite thing to draw are humans though.

There is still a lot for me to learn, but I think the most rewarding part is looking back at my old work and being able to spot the flaws because that means progress has been made!

I hope you will enjoy traveling with me through my art journey. :D

Side Notes: I sign all my art under my real name and not my pen name, CierinBlue. Thanks!

What’s that? A bird? A plane? Nope—it’s just time flying by! ✈️ Today marks my 2-year anniversary of joining DA! This year I think I’ve expanded laterally as an artist by painting things other than portraits. We saw environment/concept art, more half-body portraits and most recently, food studies! 🍌 🍓 I’ve also incorporated textures and stylization in my art which was incredibly fun to do! 💖 A BIG thank you to all my supporters! 💖 I never thought I would reach 1.1k watchers on here! 🎉 Social media is cruel to artists, but I’m glad DA is such a wonderful, supporting community. I hope in the next year I will reach more of my goals and produce more paintings for you guys to enjoy! :D

It's been a year since I started my digital art journey. Here's the vulnerable side of being an artist--showing your failures and practice sketches. Most artists don't reveal these, but I heard many people find it helpful or inspiring. I always found it really cool watching someone's art style evolve over time. Most of the first row have not been previously released because they're not DeviantArt worthy in my opinion haha. But they're the stepping stones to all the portraits afterwards! Even though my art is digital, I refrain myself from correcting them so I can keep track of my progress. I'll admit it takes a lot of willpower not to touch them!! Someday I might do a redraw to soothe my dissatisfied soul LOL. I know some people discard their "ugly" art but I highly recommend keeping them just so you can see how far you've come. It's pretty amazing! As a side note, I don't think I've ever thrown away any of my art (unless it's a lazy sketch). That's why my portfolio case
