Excerpt from the Book of the lost Northern Mayan Prophecies

Like many of my books I save the best for last; this prophecy jumped out at me when i first came across it in my studies of this New Mexican Tribe of Mayans, it is the prophecy of what awaits us December 21, 2012.
Before you decide to close the book thinking, "Bah! another end of the world prophecy!"
I'd like to state this prophecy has nothing to do with major death tolls, earthquakes, tsunamis, meteors, or an apocalypse, but more around the lines of a major climate shift that will put the earth and all its inhabitants within a very long winter.
This is a prophecy of the next Ice Age.
When our solar system crosses the Galactic equator, the poles of planets will shift.
pole shifting is actually a common occurrence and has happened several times within the earth's history.
This pole shift will change the climates drastically. but the pole shift itself is not the culprit.
Fire and ash will rain down from the black skies. The sun and moon swallowed up by the black wolf of the land. To anyone, this may sound like a meteor shower, but meteors do not produce ashes before they hit the ground, nor is it part of the earth. (it may be once it hits the earth but that's another matter) There are several dormant volcanoes dotting the earth, some the size of a country.
a pole shift may actually awaken the volcanoes in a violent manner, erupting and shooting magma, ashes and rock high into the atmosphere, enveloping the earth in a thick blanket of debris.
The debris will be trapped in the high atmosphere for years to come, it reflective properties and altitude has the ability to block the sun's rays from reaching and warming the earth, take for example the Eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in the Philippines in 1991.
following its eruption, and ejection of large amounts of dust and debris, there was a significant decrease in temperature in the northern hemisphere that lasted two years, in 1992 and 1993.
A big enough eruption from one volcano is enough to lower temperatures significantly; now imagine if all the volcanoes around the world erupted simultaneously; expelling dust and ash into the stratosphere. The effects would be that of a new Ice Age, and depending on the thickness of the veil formed by the debris in the atmosphere, may last for several years.
When the white blanket is set and darkness is choking, The Cold One of the North will appear once more from the womb of the stone white forests of the east.
Her footsteps will forever freeze the ground underneath her as her journey leads to the west.
The domain of The Beast of the South.
"The Cold One of the North" is an eluding matter, but its name suggests its origin is from the north, yet comes from the east and will be travelling west.
Perhaps a change in wind patterns. The prophecies will go on to explain the meeting between the Beast and the Cold One, and how they will determine the fate of the earth.
