Many people might be people familiar with the Splicers RPG & or Rifters (both published by Palladiumbooks) or my special fancy of DeviantArtist who have come to know the Kraken Warmount
[link]

Well, in review of the image I have realized that I should have adjusted the brightness and contrast as my previous settings were off and reflected in the previous uploaded image. Replacing the monitor and cpu with the awesome help of : dirtbomb: and reviewing the image revealed this to me. So as I have been recently practicing some lighting techniques this was one of the images I decided to rework to test a few theories. I decided to upload the results to not only see what you all think but to also upload a better quality version of the Kraken Warmount. It does Us Artist no good to produce results that we aren’t at least somewhat proud of and I don’t want to ever short sell a concept “if” I can help it.

I added a secondary Kraken in the background to fulfill a few test ideas and to make this image worth the review. There is something just a little bit more meaning might add when you have more than one of these together roaming the seas. Surely a worthy battle is on the horizons.

BTW, Chris ”Slappy” Kluge is the incredible Writer and conceptualist behind this monster war carrier that carries numerous Warmounts and Splicer battalions through the dark seas always on the lurk for the Machines…

For more insight & statistics on the Kraken, you are all welcome to visit his write up, its well worth the read:

Double clicking the image will give the best impact on these giant monsters!

PS 7, Wacom tablet & pencil & paper with a load of inspiration.

I don't recall the Kraken making an appearance in the main rulebook. Was there going to be a follow-up book? Or did they appear in a copy of the Rifter?

Yeah the Kraken was introduced in Rifter #34 I do believe. And We ("Chris "Slappy" Kluge & I) are currently working on the second sourcebook hopefully to finish it up very soon.

He he heee... here the twilight really makes a difference. Also the 2nd unit is a very smart choice in order to fill up the piece without making it busy and also making it gain depth, and the added motion blur deserves a mention here as well.

Now this Gargantuas look like the real thing :).

Thank you very much Maestro!
That lets me know that the techniques I attempted to do worked out well! Playing with the different hues and lighting was essential. The second Kraken as you mentioned helped define some depth and allowed me to make it bluer than the Kraken in the foreground. And yep, the enhanced motion blur to define the motion through the water helped solidify the image with some life to it. I also enjoy looking at the front end of the image where the heads of both krakens are in view as if they are soaring through the water like gigantic whale sharks filtering the organisms as tons of water flow through their gaping maws…

Thanx Maestro as I am now satisfied indeed with the current updates. Now I just have to get the Veritech Warmount design together. Surely I will need your insight to make it all it can be. With our knowledge on Animals I think it will be one to remember for a long… time.

thats tells me more than you ever know. This means that Splicers is coming to life and owning its own name via imagery. Thank you for the kind words and support!
