I've been trying to get into doing wide digital-painting pictures for a while and I can never get it right, so any advice on doing it can really help. Do you use any specific brushes or anything? Generally all I've managed to figure out is there's minimal sketching and you build up basic shapes with effects and highlights.
Yep, i have some fancy smoky/cloudy brushes that i use. And yeah, when it comes to landscapes, it's best to not sketch TOO much. Just a little. You have to unprogram the part of your mind that wants to put outlines around everything, and make things... foggy and simple. It's hard to describe.
