The Daeodon was a true titan of the Miocene, roaming North America roughly 20 to 25 million years ago. While they look like pigs from a nightmare, they are actually more closely related to hippos and whales. Standing over 6 feet tall at the shoulder and weighing up to one ton, they were the undisputed bullies of the ancient plains. In the Chronaverse, they are the "Steppe Scavengers," specialized for kleptoparasitism—stealing kills from other predators through sheer size and intimidation.

The "Jaw-Crusher" Fact: The Daeodon possessed one of the most specialized and terrifying skulls in mammalian history. Its massive jaws were equipped with bone-crushing molars and giant, spear-like canines, but its most unique feature was the "Bony Bosses"—thick, protruding knobs of bone on its cheekbones and lower jaw. Scientists believe these weren't just for show; they served as armored "bumpers" for its face, allowing the Hell Pig to engage in brutal, jaw-wrestling combat with rivals, where they would literally bite and clamp onto each other's skulls to establish dominance.
