Soldiers of Eras by ChromeFlames Soldiers of Eras by ChromeFlames
During the age of Exploration in the mid 22nd century, the form of protection for the ordinary grunt was the a Mk-5 IOTV worn over regular military fatigues, or sometimes an EVA suit for low oxygen areas. At this time, servo-powered suits were expensive to be equipped to all marines and power armour at this time were bulky and vehicle-like, rendering them impractical to equip all men with.

As the Coalition of Earth continue to procure newer and newer worlds in the 23rd century, resources became abundant, leading to the rapid development of technology. Such boons was the Mk-1 Infantry Power Armour. The armour was highly coveted due to its ease of production and its lightweight design compared to earlier bulky and energy guzzling Power Armours. Thus, as this armour became massed produced, modernized armies would equip most of their soldiers with this suit of power armour. And throughout the ages, the mask of each soldier became etched in the minds of those who lived under its shadow as a mark of brutal might...

By the 25th century, the suit was being upgraded through the ages, leading to its newest iteration, the Mk-3 IPA. The upgrades to the suit were simple, just like the suit was meant to be - heavier plates, more powerful servos and better environmental protection. While more advanced suits exist in this era, they are reserved for more elite and specialized operations rather than the ordinary rag-tag grunts.

Is the 23rd century soldier using a M1 Carbine? Also, when does Earth discover FTL travel?

Kind of -  I was going for a diesel-punkish futuristic style, so their guns will look like old school world war guns, but have high tech interworkings muahaha

As for the ftl lore, I mostly haven't decided yet - I was planning that they discovered Aether portals to other worlds (like Stargates :/) during world war 2 but officially develop their own sustainable space travel in the 1980's

Motherfuckers! I will travel to their world and then through time, murder their scientists and steal their prototype FTL! And make George Lucas give Star Tours to Universal just to be sure.

Well, at least there's hope that Disney itself could be bought by Sony or others.

I love the imagination in your setting and the love you pour into your work.  If I may make a critique, though, when it comes to your suits, I'd recommend experimenting with allowing the silhouettes of the figures to really start differing between them.  Allow your suit's armored plates to really stick out from the body, and show us how they're rigid plates on top of soft, bendy human bits beneath.  It will also change the suit's outline, which will help audiences pick out which type of suit is which almost right away.

an exaggerated example (not my own art, don't get too impressed):

Instead of it being "body but bigger" it becomes "something around the body."  Might even be worth sketching out the suit's wearer first, then drawing the armor around him/her.

Hey, thanks a lot for the crit man. Currently, my suits look more like robots than actual suits (which kinda beats the whole purpose :/)

And I also remembered my dudes in facebook talking about how I need to emphasize on outlines and details so some things stick out nicer too

Again, my dude, thanks so much fo this~
