Of Beatboxing Flutes, Templars and Commissions!

Journal Entry: Mon Jun 27, 2011, 8:19 PM

Updates:

First off, this guy is making me want to pull my flute out of storage and play it again. I won't ever have the talent he has because my fibromyalgia makes it hard to move my fingers like that, but man did it set an itch into my fingers to play again. I found myself holding a pen and trying to mimic the fingerings with a huge grin on my face. =D

Working on a lot of writing lately. This project I'm working on with Orsino's player, as well as my trades have eaten up a lot of my muse, so Blood and Faith is on hold for now. I am a bit frustrated with it, as the only thing being said about it is "when is smut happening?"Blood and Faith is a bit more serious that a one shot. :hmm:

I have written plenty of smut. Read that.  Take your pick:
:rose: Frosting and Sugared Violets
:rose: Midnight Negotiations
:rose: Control
:rose: Lyrium Kisses

Seriously. Or just hit up the kmeme. PLENTY of smut there.

That aside! :dummy:

Commissions! I am needing to take more of them. :nuu: My funds are incredibly low and I am afraid I will be about 100 short of being able to pay my bills come mid July. :noes:

So here are my prices:

Cel-shaded:
- 20USD, +5 for extra characters

Flat colors:
10-15USD +5 for extra characters

Lineart:
No examples as of yet, but those run 5-10 dollars, +5 for extra characters

I do traditional art, but I won't post examples or have it on the market until I get my scanner up and running so I can post newer examples.

Writing:

I've never done writing commissions; I've only done them in trades, but since I've had interest, I will offer them up.

Writing:
I'd charge 15-20, as it's almost 8,000 words and is mature content.
cute little risque but non-smut one shot: 5-10 dollars.

Any writing that goes over 10k words and contains smut will immediately have a base cost of 30 dollars. Anything over 10k words has substantial plot and requires a much larger time investment.

Commission Process:
:star:1. Send me a note via dA with your idea. Include the following:
Content rating (Mature, Adult only, etc. Please note I do charge 5+ extra for adult content in my drawn art unless it is tasteful.)
Pose/theme/mood/etc. If a pose is not chosen, I will ask for a mood to base the pose on.
Character references. Please have a clear face shot of your characters, and at least a few lines of their personality. If they are important, please list any tattoos, piercings, scars etc- if they are not                mentioned, I don't know to add them. Also if your character has a specific style of dress or a specific outfit, please have a correct clear reference of it. Or if you want me to design one, that's fine.

:star:2. I will do up to 2 sketches and offer them for your approval.  (Or if it's writing, I will offer a few potential "plots" if none are given. If a prompt is given, I will submit a small sample of the beginning to see if it suits the mood the buyer is looking for)

:star:3. Once the sketch/sample/plotline is approved, I will not proceed until payment is received.
I only use paypal the address of which will be provided via note once the sketch is approved.

:star:4. Once payment is received, I will finish the art. Usually my running time to finish a piece is anywhere between 2-3 days. If I take longer, I will notify you via note. I have fibromyalgia and sometimes it affects my hands, which will impede my process.
Writing will take longer as plotting and outlining, characters, figuring timelines etc are involved. If it's simple smut PWP, it shouldn't take me longer than a few days.

Rules:
I don't draw mechanical things very well. I am best at drawing humanoid critters, dragons, mythical creatures, etc.
Ask me about fetishes/philias. I only have a handful I won't draw, so if in doubt, just ask. I won't bite your head off.

Disclaimer, etc.
Any fan art is property of the company that came up with the original concept, the art is my product, any OC's are products of your creativity, and I will not claim them.

My art may be used by YOU as icons, backgrounds, etc, but not for commercial use.

If I do simple lineart, it may NOT be used as a base for another artist to be paid to color. I have had this happen before and was NOT happy at being paid five dollars for lineart, only to have another artist be paid 30 to color my work. Do NOT do it, I will raise a stink. If another artist wants to color it for free, or if you want to color it, that is fine, just give me credit for the lineart.

I do not use your art as prints like some artists. I may use it as an example of a given type of commission, but I will never use it to make profit. I don't take pleasure in making profit off other people's original characters.

Writing:

For fuck's sake, if I catch you claiming my writing as yours, so help me. So. Help. Me.

I wish I had more funds to commission you. I'm trying to save up during my mid-year break so I don't go broke buying textbooks, supplies and film for Semester 2. D:

But I will have to commission something from you when I do! :D

I have absolutely no talent for music so I admire people who can not only play instruments, but also have that kind of ease which allows them to have fun with it. And damn, this guy looks like he's having the time of his life :D Positive energy like whoa :]

It amazes me, too. I've played flute for almost 15 years now and he puts me to shame. I never had that much energy when I played, save for marching band! XD

15 years... I regret I never had any music lessons when I was younger :( I had music theory for three years not so long ago, because I need to work with musicians from time to time, but I have a total lack of hearing. I can't even hear the difference between dur and moll (I'm not sure but I guess it's minor and major in English...). Ghhh... I envy You. It must be such a fun :]

you know, it's WEIRD, but I FEEL the difference between major and minor keys. Always have. Might be a form of Synesthesia. I always feel like music in major keys are warm and sometimes a bit abrading. Minor key music feels smooth and cool to me- has since I was little. I've always been able to play music better when it's in a minor key- especially D Minor. (But I think that's because my natural singing pitch is best suited to D Minor)

It's not always fun though- after years of playing music- 4 years of which were under a director who was former military and was anal retentive about tuning- it HURTS my ears when something is out of tune. It feels like needles. Again, i think it's a form of Synesthesia.

Yeah, many people told me that the difference between minor and major is something You feel - and they often discribe it as something similar to a difference between warm and cold, or happy and sad. My friend tried to teach me, and she was hitting those piano keys for hours, and I was like "emmm... cold? no... warm? or maybe cold...? But whyyyy?" O_o

I have no idea how You people can feel this diffrence... :]

for me there's only music I like and music I don't like :]

haha Music you like and music you don't is good enough =)

I'm just weird, because music in major key is really hard for me to connect to. It feels heavy in my ears. Not sure why. I get headaches listening to it.

it does sound happier than minor key- my mom always told me as a kid I was too glum, because I always hated major key music. I called it "Daytime music" and called minor "Nighttime music" and preferred it. XDD

I was a weird kid XD
