Hey guys! My name is Christine (if you havent already guessed). I work as a graphic designer by day, and a freelance artist by night. I'm going to college at the moment to double major in graphic design and photography, with a minor in art history. i actually prefer painting and drawing! i critique - and i critique HARD. please dont be offended - im just offering constructive criticism. i might be harsh - but i guess thats what happens when youre an art major.
I love body modification, camping, NES, slipknot, xbox, bright hair dye, fishnets, chains, studs, Dr. House, dinos, Bioshock, metallica, CAVING, ice cream, rats, and zombies. im a big time concert junkie - ive seen a bajillion bands live. im pretty sure i left my heart in the moshpit.

The philosophy behind my artwork is that through the elements of the three R's (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) we can make the world a better place. **My art is NOT an attempt to save the planet single handedly - what i am trying to do is make a point, send a strong message. My artwork can be used as a reminder that if we continue to fail to be responsible and take action, flowers like this might be the only ones left.
Most of the artwork featured here is my metal work: 100% made out of recycled materials - save for the adhesive and the resin (fake water). the resin, however, is the reusable type... so if someone else wants to recycle it they can! My artwork is sculpted from LITTERED cans. all the vases/pots come from thrift shops right as they are about to be thrown out - to a life in a landfill.
the FOCUS of my artwork is to demonstrate the impact we, as a community, have on our planet. My artwork is here to prove a point, send a message, change some minds, and be aesthetically pleasing at the same time. the fact that my work is formed from littered cans can be shocking to some, but hopefully it will move some people to do good.
though i tend to get a little on the "craft" side of things with my hair clips, my work is meant to say something more.
I ship all my work using 100% recycled packaging, and 10% of every purchase is donated to the notable environmental charity GREENPEACE!!! lastly: NONE of the photos of my metalwork have been retouched, i just dont have the time. so sorry if the photo quality lacks in areas!

BE SURE TO CHECK OUT MY WORK IN OTHER MEDIUMS AS WELL!
