The Storms of Life

We all have storms in our lives that we go through.  Whether it’s the loss of a loved one or the rough transition to adulthood, no one can admit that they won’t go through any storms in life.  But who or what will you turn to when times of trouble happen?  Maybe it’s your favorite sport.  Or maybe junk food.  Or your electronic devices (as it has been the case with me).  But, as I have learned from reading the Bible and my life experience, nothing and no one except Jesus can bring us out of these hardships and heal our hurt.  If we have put our trust in Jesus as our Lord and Savior, He will guide us through these storms.

In addition, we also need to interact with other Christians.  Even on days when I don’t feel like going to church, I still go there.  I also find that it may help to interact with my friends.  Not all of my friends are Christians, but none of my secular friends pull me down in my Christian faith.

As I write this, Tropical Storm Michael is raging outside.  The strong winds are blowing the trees in my backyard, there’s some rain outside, and the power in my house has flickered a few times.  There’s a chance that we could have isolated power outages as a result of this storm.  (I’m just glad that I stopped playing “The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask” when I did.  If I was still playing it when the power flickered, I would have lost any unsaved data!)

It’s late, and I need to go to bed.  I may not write as well when I’m tired.  But I hope to write a journal entry when I’m more awake and alert.  God bless!
