Star Mares 2.3.3: Tempus Fugitive

This scene was originally a few pages longer and involved Moontear putting an audio tap on the computer, hiding in a crate and listening in on Fettlock eavesdropping on the Imperial comms, but that was way too complicated and I needed the page count. I also figured I should actually give Applejack something to do apart from listening to Moontear's constant ranting.

The seating arrangements in this ship are weird and I couldn't find a good reference for the controls, so panel 2 is a bit wonky.

It certainly wouldn't do to let your marefriend outshine you. Without close competition how can you have romance?

I always assumed the Slave 1 had gyroscopic seating for when it was in the docking and flight positions. Otherwise it seems really awkward to get in in the first place. Still a clever way to find their friend. Just hitch a ride with the person most likely to find them.

That's what I would have thought, but it clearly isn't what was happening in AotC :(

Makes even less sense for horses, but I'd already done multiple angles of the thing and I didn't feel like redesigning the interior.

Yeah, I've always found the Slave-1 to be a bit weird. I mean, I don't know what it was based on, but I just keep seeing a flying clothes-iron whenever I see it.

Now I'm not going to be able to unsee that...

Although for all we know, that's what they used to make the prop.  It wouldn't be the weirdest thing they'd ever built something out of.

IIRC, the Millennium Falcon was based on a burger with an olive.

Haha, Moontear.  "What? They're trying to bait me!  I'm going to go straight there and give them a piece of my mind!"

"She speaks binary son. Gotta stay competitive"

Binary son, binary sun, haha. OK I'm out. XD
This line is good though

Ah! And here I thought she was going to take the ship herself.

Cookiecutter might try. Moontear is less dumb (usually).

"Oh, When I get my hooves on her…"
'She's a real pain in the flank.'

Sorry, couldn't resist that.

This was really good, I like how it is all about Wind Whistler. I can't wait to see what happens when they meet up in Bitspin.

I thought it might be a trifle necessary to remind people that Wind Whistler exists, given how long it's been since we last saw her :)
