Description

oh my god....curls!!!!!!!! Well here is one way to get yourself out of art block. I was sick and tired of not coming out with anything new so I decided to resort to one of my old favorite past times, drawing Disney characters. Honestly drawing those curls was probably the best thing for me. It took an enormous amount of time and patience and definitely set me back on the right track. That and I am terrible at hair so this was definitely good practice for me. I'm considering doing a series of these with my favorite Disney princesses with just their faces and their hair. The more interesting ones, at least.

This is the non colored version, I am in the process of finishing off with colored pencils. I did this at first with pencil then went over with sharpie pen. Those are so undervalued, I swear! They don't bleed and they give you a nice smooth line. Plus shading with them is really easy.

Oh and I am also working on a commission from a friend of mine. I will post pics soon!

It's good to be back!!

This is a stunning piece of fan art. You really have done an excellent job with the hair. I imagine that the curls took quite a long time, but they do look very nice. Some of them are large and bouncy, others are tiny and appear almost like a telephone cord. I do think that you did an excellent job of rendering them very much in the same way that the artists at Disney/Pixar did.

I do like the way that you've drawn her here. This image looks very much like something you would see in a graphic novel. Thank you for sharing this.
