I've known this book to always be "Sorcerer's Stone" but in my opinion philosopher's stone sounds much cooler

It was Sorcerer's In America, Philosopher's in the UK and other regions.

It's both; well, it's "Sorcerer's" in America, and "Philosopher's" in Britain. I don't know which of the two they use in other places. I guess the marketing team felt American kids would see "Philosopher's Stone" and think it would be a boring book about philosophy, not magic and wizards.

Yes, that's essentially exactly what the American publisher's thought which is why we know it and the movie as The Sorcerer's Stone.

Oh, well that's pretty cool to know ^^
I would totally read the book no matter the title haha.
I can't believe my country named it differently.

Wow, these covers are all amazing. Great work !
I was wondering, do the runes around the sides have a meaning?

Thank you! Yes, the runes read, "The Boy Who Lived Will Save Us All From He Who Must Not Be Named" and then there's a protective spell that tells a story of war, death and rebirth in the middle on each side.
