"Creating Characters" and "It's Mary, She's Sueing"
WHERE: Luna Room
WHEN: Sunday, 11:15am - 12:30pm
Back-to-back panels that have been very successful at Nightmare Nights and HaronyCon get a debut in Seattle! This is a presentation that definitively examines what makes likable characters, how they impact stories, and how they can be applied, with a focus on MLP OCs. I don't just say what it is; I explain, back up information with proof, use examples, and might turn you into a story critic.
Then I have a followup panel about Mary Sues, with again with a definitive and universal definition, how to best avoid them, what the warning signs are, and the different types. I also go over what causes us to create them (and I've created every single type in the past) and how we can alter them to the desired effects, falling back on core concepts to Creating Characters.
BOOPS ARE FORBIDDEN! I will be carried around the con in a laptop bag by a fat, ugly, half-Korean who will help with the presentation. And though I've been booped many times before at past cons, I will be READY this time! *angry fluff mode activated*
