When the baby oyster is born, it is born as a mobile/shell-less animal with fins, a brain and a set of eyes. It travels the ocean looking for a safe, nutrient filled area for him to settle. When he finds this location, the baby oyster eats his own brain and eyes and begins processing calcium for his eventual shell. The oyster shuns off his mind for a life of safe, un-obligated indifference.
