After a small hiatus from costumes and photography, we're back – this time swaggering into the salt-drenched world of pirates, swordplay and sand, savvy? Capt'n Chiaki, the Pirate Witch (wench? Ha!) Nasrin and a guest appearance by potential Mutineer E make up the cast of our latest escapades. And what better place to search for treasure than at the Gold Coast's Currumbin Beach and Rockpools?
With the help of a friend standing in to hold lighting stands/reflectors (thanks, Grip!) the afternoon was a little more easy-going than some of our shoots (usually, there is just the two of us and any pictures with both of us in them involve timers/reflectors sticky-taped to trees and a hell of a lot of running between the camera and the 'X' – we've never had any luck with remote controls!). Of course, the rather graphic cuts on Ona's face did lead to a few concerned queries as we walked to our first location and the (un)helpful army of children out enjoying their Sunday afternoon nearly performed an act of mutiny themselves in their attempts to pirate away Capt'n Chiaki's sword. Finally, the reflector was an unfortunate casualty late in the afternoon – it was **thisclose** to being swept out to sea by a particularly energetic wave.
Hopefully you'll enjoy using these photos as much as we enjoy creating them – as always; we look forward to seeing what comes out of it! In fact, in light of our habit of being notoriously terrible at replying to stock usage related queries in a timely fashion, we have finally created some Stock Usage Guidelines. If you've used our stock before – do not fret; the guidelines are exactly the same as they've always been – they're just a little easier to find now, in the sense that I will be putting a link to them on each new upload instead of replying to people's stock usage queries in the requests…
As a side note; I have it on good authority that a third (fourth???) Star Trek shoot should be up in the next few weeks – with AU!Kirk and a Blue Shirt in the Brisbane Parklands landing party. Additionally, a Lothlorian inspired Lord of the Rings shoot (backdrop the ever-inspiring Mt Cootha Gardens) in the same vein as our Rohan and Arwen shoots should be up soon as well.
Have fun!

Deciding what to do with the time that is given us
Well hello there deviants.
We've taken the time to complete a few new shoots and revisit a few old ones over the past two months. The title of this post probably gives you a hint for what one of the shoots will be (if you're not a cryptic person, we've put up the first image too). The full quote is "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us" and for us, that means we'll gradually trawl through the horde of photos we took to upload the best. Please forgive us if this takes a while - we both try to spend as much time as we can on this but ultimately it is a hobby that is often overrun by our other lives.

Well, I blinked and another year has gone by! I don't even know how it is possible - but the dates stamps do not lie...
We are still here - though you would not know it from our upload history, or ability to reply to comments! Not to mention the Daily Deviation that we somehow managed to miss completely... thank you all, once again, for your fantastic comments - it's lovely to read them, even if it is three months too late!

Stock Usage Guidelines
Basically, both myself and Nasrin fail at regular DeviantArt checking, so we'd like to make using our stock as easy and clear cut as possible.
First off; "We give all DeviantArt users permission to use our stock in any and all Deviant Prints without restriction."
The conditions we place on the use of our stock are:
1) Please credit us appropriately, with a link back to the stock used, or our main page, if published online. If it is not online, please credit however possible - nothing big, just enough to acknowledge the contribution our work has made.
2) Please send us a link to your Deviation/work so we can see what you've created - eithe
A long awaited explanation....
Over the past month we have had more than a few questions regarding our latest photo shoot. We like to write our explanation notes at the same time as we put a new set of stock photos up - but I seem to have missed the last two!
I have no excuses - time is flying by at the moment - I can't believe it's nearly Christmas already! So finally, I'm going to put up the explanation!
These shoots were Nasrin's idea - she cajoled me into travelling some 9 hours out of the city - 'straight west to find some red dirt' as she put it, I think. Actually, that's not quite right - she wanted to go much further than we did, but we didn't have the time to go

It's great to see more amazing photos from you highly talented and creative ladies. Trek Series 4 is excellent! I am sorry that Chiaki isn't in any of the photos though. Looking forward to your next series of photos.
