Zanpakuto Tsuba Designs: Pt 18 by chioky Zanpakuto Tsuba Designs: Pt 18 by chioky
:star: The Zanpakuto Tsuba Index

The purpose of these drawings is to help swordmakers and propmakers. When it comes to making katana's or zanpakuto's most of the time the tsuba is the most unique part of the sword. The tsuba is what makes the zanpakuto a one of a kind. So I drew up these closely detailed and accurate measurements of these tsuba's. With these tsuba's they act as a reference when your going to attempt to make the sword. If you use a scene from a anime or manga to make use reference for your tsuba, it might be flawed. So I have saved you the trouble and drawn them all out clearly, with measurements so you can print and cut them out.

:bulletblue: Hozukimaru: Right so before you ask yes ikkaku does have a tsuba its his unreleased zanpakuto XD. Of course we all know his release turns into a spear but its original form will always be like a katana. Not much to say about this tsuba, I actually got the picture from I think the Bleach 2007 calender, becuase there was no clear shot in the anime and manga! Though I must say it is a pretty bad design for a tsuba, well on the other side it will be pretty simple and basic to make. For those who are actually going to make the released zanpakuto then his actual released spear zanpakuto.

:bulletblue: Fuji Kujaku: Now this is Yumichika Ayasegawa's zanpakuto tsuba, and as you can see I had trouble finding out what it looked like. Most shots of the tsuba in the anime and manga, were shown on its side edge, like that was helpfull. Of course the actual shape of the tsuba was alot more easier to find out. What was hard to work out was the details inside. There was no good reasonable shots of the details when I got the 2007 Bleach calender. I was able to draw the top and bottom details of the tsuba, but it was the damn sides. I just could not make out how the design for the side details on the tsuba was. My opinion ignore it XD

:bulletblue: Important Notes:

. ALL these guards slide into swords with a thicnkess of 5 mm and 30 mm long, there are some exceptions.
.The parrallel lines are the rims of the guards that you cut out of balsa wood and glue onto the main guard.
.Download the full version, then copy and paste it, print it off then cut it out with scissors.
.Once it the paper tsuba is cut out, then draw around it with a pencil on the wood, then cut it out to finish.

Ah, your design on Yumichika's tsuba is a bit differently to how I did mine. I don't know about the manga, but in the anime you get a clear view of the details, at least once.

If you look at [link] (2:09) they give us a nice close-up.

Just thought I'd mention it :)

Seeing as how you own a Wii, I'm guessing you've played Shattered Blade. You could get some good guard sketches out of it; Arturo's guard is in pretty good detail just on the front of the box, and you might be able to get some sketches by checking the character models.

Well, yeah, that's how I know about the gurads in it ^ω^. It shouldn't be that expensive anymore, maybe around 25 US$-30 US$. I don't know how that converts to UK£, though.

Um, I'll try, but I have no idea how to take screen shots on the Wii. Well, on a game other than Metroid Prime 3, that is. But I can probably tell you which guards you haven't done yet. I know for sure you haven't done Arturo's and Kusajishi Yachiru's. The other ones I can think of (but are unsure about) are Zaraki, Komamura, Ganju (because some people just can't seem to lose enough dignity), and maybe Soifon.

While this is excellent and wonderful thing you are doing, you could try contacting some one who has the Bleach Wii game to take a picture, because it allows you to zoom up on it. I would but I do not have a camera, or camera phone to do such a thing, but the palm fraun or flower is like a spaced hand, five sprouts from it, and for the sides looks like stylizish 'S' that almost resembles a figure '8'. Hopes that help.

I don`t believe we will ever be able to see this zanpakuto clearly, Kubo-senpai isn`t that nice :P also, I don`t believe fillers will EVER end, so there`s no hope about seeing Fuji in anime, too XDD

do not fear! if u have bleach: shattered blade, then u could clearly see Fuji Kujaku's tsuba. the top and bottom designs are like chioky's, except they each have 5 spikes instead of three. as for the side designs, there are swirls that kinda resemble abstract peacock feathers(and the top and bottom designs look like peacock tails, hence the zanpakuto's name: Fuji Kujaku; the Wisteria Peacock)
