Design is the discipline of developing visual solutions for advertising, communication, and/or social expression.
Art is the practice of creating compositions using various mediums in a way that influences and affects one or more of the senses, emotions, and intellect.
Despite the definitions being somewhat similar, there is certainly a line between the two generalizations. For example: an artist seeks to please him/herself, while a designer seeks to gain the attention of his/her target audience.
If anyone cares to discuss, I'd be pleased to hear opinions regarding this.
I have to say...I'm really surprised at the response levels on this portal.
I'm a bit leery about posting my work. I hate theft, and especially since I work so hard on them with what little time I have.
More art coming soon.
