As an artist not of Chinese heritage, I hope you'll permit me to share a project born from a deep respect and admiration for your culture.
I have always been deeply moved by the power of classic Chinese poetry, especially Li Bai's immortal 靜夜思 (Quiet Night Thought). Its timeless feeling of homesickness inspired me to create a short, cinematic homage.
My film is an attempt to explore a question: what would this ancient poem feel like in a lonely, futuristic, sci-fi setting?
I wanted to share it with this community specifically, in the spirit of cross-cultural artistic appreciation. I would be truly honoured to know what you think of this interpretation.
