Christophobia by Chiminix Christophobia by Chiminix

:iconwarning-plz:   READ THE BLOODY DESCRIPTION BEFORE COMMENTING   :iconwarning-plz:

The definition is self-explanatory;  the irrational fear of Christians or Christianity.  It's pretty obvious in the media already,  but that's nearly benign compared to genocide in the Middle East.

And before you get on my ass about acknowledging this, just know that you can be prejudiced against anything.  Christian, atheist, Muslim, straight, gay, black, white, Klingon, whatever.  It's all the same shit.

So why is it that some forms of bigotry are given so much attention while other forms of bigotry are largely ignored?  Is that just a double standard or what?  It may not be the most frequent prejudice out there, but it is one of the most downplayed.

And what's happening in MANY countries right now is no less inexcusable as any other form of violent persecution.  Wake up, people.

EDIT: 10/10/17
I might make other variations of this, such as atheophobia, islamophobia, etc.  But probably not

Fucking hell, I might just put this whole thing in storage.  I don't even care about religion anymore

EDIT: 1/27/18
probably could've picked better sources too

the Hell Doctrine of Christianity scared the shit out of me, so much I got depression and anxiety to the point I had suicidal thoughts.
but don't worry, I'm slowly recovering from that spiritual nuclear bomb. I may never look at the christian religion the same way again,
but that doesn't mean I hate Christians. I don't necessarily trust them, or at least most of them. but I will forgive them, accept what happened and move on. even if it takes a long time to do so.

I guess I have a little bit of this phobia. Since I was child, I thought that having a religion was obligatory and if you didn't had one people will send you to prison. Thus I was scared to death to tell my friends and my family I was an atheist. Now it's getting better, they all know I'm an atheist but still stuffs like intense religious activities scare the shit out of me...

Yeah, I think the main problem is the perpetuated myth that we hate the LGBT community. No, we don't hate them, we just don't agree with their lifestyle. It's like assuming vegans hate anyone who eats meat. Utter bullshit.

Sadly, this is true. However, I think it's usually the loud minority. Regardless, it's still ridiculous to see Christians, especially those who KNOW they are going against the very book that they follow, act so hostile to somebody because of who they love.

you need to clarify which Islamophobia you're talking about.

Are you talking about the one that people scream about when you criticize Islam? I might have seen more of that than Christophobia.

Or are you talking about REAL Islamophobia where someone will kill someone because they're a Muslim? If that is the case, then I have to agree with you on that one.

I think it's important to realize the difference between real, versus fake Christophobia.

Real: The Middle Eastern or African Christian whose church is bombed, and the Islamic government refuses to act.

Fake: The well-off westerner who gets angry that gays can now marry, and university science classes teach evolution.

k you have a good point

but still, you and i both know how some christians be attacking people because "ohhhhhh my ultimate belieffff you sinnerrrrrr," and while atheists also cry,"ohhh fairy talessss ewwww" my point is that some christians do it too

and it's those specific cringeworthy ones that probably turn some people off, some people probably even figure,"they both have shit in them and one of them's trying to justify it with the bible "

"my point is that some christians do it too"

Obviously, hence why I said you could find this behavior in every group.  I never said, nor did I imply (nor was it my intent to if I did), that there are no Christians who behave this way.

Oh my goodness I should have stopped reading there. I can sense the tumblr SJWs' ideology and butthurt-ness radiating off of this comment. That or this is a troll bait. Anywho...

Yes it does... At least come up with a good argument (Or at least check your grammar, tidy up a bit, so people can perceive you better.). It would probably make you seem less ignorant about certain topics. Anyways, a quick search trip to google would tell you or inform you about such. You'd usually see links and news saying: 'Christian killed for x/y'. 'Christian boy burned alive.' 'Christian boy killed.' These are just from the top of my head.

Not to mention the practice of it is banned in certain areas, whereas people fear for their lives for believing in Christ. People are shoved out their houses and beaten for believing in such. People committed suicide because of this oppression. People fear of losing friends or being discriminated against for their beliefs.

If that isn't 'phobia' or oppression, then what is? Precisely. Please do not be ignorant of the description or factual evidence.

I don't even know who Sargon Of Akkad is. Nor do I 'suck' anyone's private part(s). Flaccid or not.~ You may do so, but that isn't my hobbies and I'd rather not. My hobbies are usually and just drawing, sewing, puzzles, crafting, quizzes, reading, and ect. I also don't see why sucking a man's reproductive organ/gential for a hobby has any relevance to my comment at hand. A bit rude and vulgar, per say. That first sentence was sarcasm and NOT SERIOUS edgy-ness. I guess it rubbed off on you. x'D.

Anyways I find it hilarious how you diss literally all the factual evidence and argument within the comment to focus on something to be edgy about.
Classic. I shouldn't have expected anything more nor rational feedback.

Anyways, if that is so, why deny christophobia or discriminations against christians? I haven't seen any facts yet given to support your claims nor statistics to disprove what I stated.

I really dont need statistics to tell you that in first world countries, you are NOT discriminated against for being a christian. It is a majority in america and australia and even england.

Sure, christians are prosecuted in places for not believing a certain religion, but pretty much anyone thats not a muslim or a specific religion would get culled for not believing in their specific version of theology.

This stamp was probably made because they got pissy at bill nye denying a creationist argument or whatever

Actually, it's a good and projective way to advocate your argument by including evidence, just to support your claims with facts. Especially when you stated, 'I don't deny the facts'. Though you are correct.

Precisely what I am trying to say. The point is that they are prosecuted and can be discriminated against regardless. Even in first world places, however, not persecuted/oppressed/banned for worshiping, but can be discriminated to/against. That doesn't mean christophobia isn't real, as your first comment states. To be honest this is the main point I'm making.

Discrimination:

''the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex.
"victims of racial discrimination"
synonyms:prejudicebiasbigotryintolerance, narrow-mindedness, unfairnessinequityfavoritism, one-sidedness, partisanship''

This still occurs, even maybe in workplaces (This is why many choose to avoid questions, and even we learn about avoiding questions, such as sex, if you are married, your race, and even religion. Not only they are irrelevant to getting most job(s), but also leaves a foothold for possible discrimination.) Although we have items to protect us, i.e civil rights act of 1964, EEOC, and freedom of speech and will, this doesn't mean it isn't violated. You denying it is quite sad.

I also think you should be aware that Christians in first worlds still get bullied, said to 'not read their bible' in free time when it literally wasn't bothering anyone (That was on the news one time.), think suicidal because of the loss or lack of friends because of their beliefs, and ect. Maybe it isn't severe compared to other given areas where they behead, catch them on fire, torture, and ect, but discrimination is still there and possible. Some even keep quiet of being a christian to avoid generalizing hatred towards them.

I'm not saying this is something to whine about or pull the victim card up at. Just the fact that people need to be aware that this happens. I don't care about your ideologies. Just be aware. I'm aware of bad christians and idiots going around hurting gays. I hate it AND their actions to the point I want to grab a bible and whack them with it, but I don't deny it to suit my viewpoints.

This stamp was probably made because:

A) The stamp maker noticed people, tumblr, bashing on christians and choosed to say 'no they aren't', to justify their actions against them.

B) He wanted a victim card.

C) Was triggered by the christian jokes. (To be honest I don't mind most of them. I found myself laughing at a Footsteps animation too.)

D) Faced discrimination

E) Wants to be a special little someone.

I doubt E is the case, but it can be possible. Just look at some people fake mental illnesses and self-diagnoses.

"Look, I'm mentally ill. Cater and pity me."
