Hi there! One odd thing that I have noticed that might help if you're ever struggling to get a sense of a character or if you have Writer's block when it comes to describing a character, is to sketch the character that is giving you trouble. The attached image is a sketch I did of a character of mine that is named Maadim. While I was writing the bits that featured him, I was having a bit of trouble getting a sense of how his transformation into the undead had changed him. And drawring his portrait helped me overcome that impasse. If you can't draw, don't worry about it. A stickman with descriptive bullet points is more than enough to achieve the same effect. Because drawring the character isn't the point, the actual point of the exercise is for you to do the extra work to ground the character or make them more well-rounded, to give you something outside of the story you're writing that you can pick up or point to and say 'this is the character.' Guild Chests

1 min read
Ola! I'm going to try out something different, which is to make the occasional post about writing. Be it a comment on pop-culture writing or research, or maybe even some useful tips. The image above features a Guild Chest from TES Morrowind. It was likely inspired from real life, from the time when there used to be guilds such as the blacksmith's guild, weaver's guild, potter's guild, et cetera. While the Mage's and Fighter's Guilds chests are used to give the player starting supplies, real life Guilds used theirs to store documents, such as contracts, the right to operate, and other important documents. The chest was also used to store the guild's funds. And it was usually present and kept open during every guild meeting. That's it for now. Until next time, have a good one. ^_~ Also, if you like what I post, consider buying me a coffee at https://ko-fi.com/adriankain

Dear Sir/Madam, May the Force be with you as you live long and prosper. If you would be so kind as to help me out, I have entered a writing contest on restlessbackpacker.com and the winner will be decided based on who has garnered the most votes. If you would be so inclined to vote for me you can do so here, my story is the bottom one both in the order of the stories and the order of the pool. It has been titled "The Other One With The Suspicious Paw Prints." The winner will be announced on the 24th of march, so there's still some time left. Please vote. I will leave the link to the voting page at the bottom of this entry. Also, I will also
