The pony picks you

Some characters that haven’t been introduced yet! Yay! I have big plans for them, so I figured they needed some horses to get started. Trying for these two beauties!

Story:

Lucie was in the market for an all around hunt and riding horse, so when a sale of Atlantean Cobs appeared on her radar, she immediately brought it up to her husband. Eric felt like it was a great opportunity and so they packed up their 7 year old daughter, Emma, and all headed off to the sale. On the way, Lucie looked at the pictures of the horses on her phone. She was falling in love with a little grey cob named Whirlwind, who just seemed perfect. When they got to the sale, they wandered around a bit, looking at all the horses before making their way to the pen Whirlwind was in. The grey mare seemed even more perfect in reality. She was stout and muscular and had a certain fire in her eyes when she glanced up.

But Eric dashed all that by saying, “Honey, it says she’s a kicker. You can’t have a kicker if you’re going to pony Emma around.”

“Hmm,” Lucie responded. “True.”

But then Emma piped up, “What if we got this one?”

She was standing near a little red mare and the mare was looking back at her.

“She’s much too small for me to ride on a regular basis,” Lucie told her daughter.

“No, what if we got this one AND Whirlwind? They live together so they must get along,” Emma said. Then she turned around to face her parents, a giant smile on her face. “I really think I’m old enough for a pony of my own! Pleeeeeeeaaaassseeee?”

“Well,” Eric said, glancing over at Lucie. “I suppose its not the worst idea!”

“Yay!” Emma shouted, jumping up and down. “My own pony!”
