This is a 3d printing commission I did for :iconsupacrikeydave: of Meli from his webcomic MAiZ. No idea how well the actual 3d print turned out, but hopefully it managed to capture most of the detail.

These are some 3d renders I did of the model in Blender. I freaking love the new despeckle filter they added. Each of these shots only took about a minute and a half to render because of it. I do need to mess with the filter some more though because it created faint splotches in the renders.

Sorry I haven't posted anything in a long time, been busy working on other projects and looking for a job. Job hunting is miserable :(

Oh' This looks real nice. Yea, depending on the printer used, this should turn out quite good.

Depending on how thin the top and skirt is, that might not print well. It would be great to know if it did, and who SupaCrikeyDave gone with to print it, if he did already.

Shapeways is just one out of many to tryout. I wish to try what they can make for me. They have so many options as well.

Hey thanks, I appreciate the comment and suggestions.

I used Meshmixer to fill this with supports. Also I gave the clothing some thickness so hopefully it works out well. The person printing the commission has a Makerbot Replicator 2 and some other Makerbot printer. While that company is a horrible company the printers he has seem to be pretty good and should be able to print this no issue.

I have wanted to test out Shapeways because they can do some pretty interesting materials and high detailed prints. May have to do that on some future model.
