Hello, I'm here from :iconprojectcomment:!

It's a very charming piece and has a lot of potential. I was drawn to the colour of the hair first, as it is an unnatural hue but it's a nice colour. However, it looks very randomly placed. Remember that hair isn't flat; it flows from the scalp.

The lineart seems a little sketchy; try drawing in longer strokes, rather than lots of little "chicken scratches". You'd be amazed at how it can change the look of a piece!

Your shading seems to be a little off; is the light source coming from above, below, or somewhere else? If it helps, imagine a lightbulb coming from where you want the light to be coming from and try to imagine where the light would hit the figure, and how strongly.

It's a very nice artwork! I'll provide some links to tutorials to help you. Keep it up, and don't stop drawing! :)

Hello! While I appreciate your comment, I don't very much like that you called my lines "chicken scratch".
I understand that messy lines are not as attractive as smooth lines, but I like them! And I'll try to figure out a way to better incorporate them so that others will see them more as artistic expression rather than messy, randomly placed lines.

Sketchy is just my style! I guess it's just a little TOO messy and active for digital artwork though. I also understand lighting fairly well, but I'll try to keep that in mind! This was a piece that was done some time ago, so I was testing what I could do with all the brushes and such.

Hi! I'm from :iconprojectcomment:
This is really cute not gonna lie. 10/10, love it.
There are some things you can work on, but there is on EVERY piece of art. One thing is the shading. It's a little on the thick side, but it's not bad at all. You could also lower the opacity of your shading layer, which is always an easy fix. Your lineart could be a little more on the smooth side, but it honestly looks really cute when it's kinda messy like that. There are some tiny itty bitty spots where you didn't color in all the way which is, again, an easy fix. The hair could use a lil work, just try and smooth it out some, but it still looks great with your art style. For real though, this is adorable and I really really like it.
Keep up the good work!!

Hello! Thank you for the comment!
Yes, this was an earlier work of mine, so I may have forgotten that opacity was a thing xD
Yes, I heard, smooth lineart is a bit more controlled and attractive I suppose. While it would work for a more detailed work (where I would definitely try to have much more precise and smooth lines), I think for a little doodle with my mouse it works out :3
As for the color, I've seen quite a few artists I'm fond of do the same. Keeping it all between the lines isn't bad for something like this I guess; or to me I suppose.
The hair, I really like it tbh! I'm just a bit curious, why should it be smoothed out more?
