Description
Hey, Look at this!
Since a lot of you guys seem to have enjoyed my Paper Mario: The Book of Ages idea (or perhaps only the drawing, but who cares), I decided to do little pictures on each chapter during the paper adventure.
Picking up where I left off here [link] , let's continue with Chapter 6. Mario's next night sky instrument takes him and his new friends to the Clockwork Colosseum. The Colosseum is where the greatest warriors from around the world came to battle beasts and one another in gladiatorial combat. Not knowing where to start the enter the arena to watch a match. Thousands of people crowd the stands just to watch. Just before the match begins, In enters Emperor Octoberus (successor to Septemberus), ruler of the Colosseum to trumpeting horns. All is silent in the arena, while the Octoberus gives a brief speech about gladiatorial games and after sits in his throne. He then pulls out a bell to signal the beginning of the battle, but this is no ordinary bell, for it is the Kuiper Bell, one of the seven Instruments of the Night Sky. After the match, Mario and friends stand out in the lobby to come up with a plan to get the instrument. Before they could come up with a plan, Octoberus starts walking by, being absolutely rude and obnoxius (especially towards his own guards). He accidentally walks into Mario, and yells at him to watch out where he's going, or he would fee Mario to the Chainchomps. Then one of Mario's partners asks if they could have his bell, and gives a brief synopsis as to why. The Emperor, unmoved by their plea, just walks off and just kind of spouts out that if anyone could beat the Hytail, they would be awarded the bell.
So then Mario and co. go down to the recruiting offices to join as gladiators. Which they are then lead under the Colosseum to where the other gladiators are. But before they could all be introduced, Mario is thrust out onto the arena floor for a battle (of which I'm not sure). Then afterward, back in the catacombs of the Colosseum, he meets Koopustus, the koopa gladiator and the other gladiators. They then ask why you joined up, which Mario and co. explain the whole bell and winning the arena and what not. They all burst out laughing. As they then go off on how they too were lured by riches, and that the only way out of here was to get GAME OVER. Even saying that they don't believe the Hytail even exists. So basically they're all prisoners to Octoberus.
So for a while all you can do is fight battles, against the likes of Chain Chomps and other Mario enemies, in the arena and interact with the other gladiators. For a while to Mario and Co. it looks like there may be no way out of this without going back in time and trying a different approach in getting the instrument. Just about when all hope is lost, Gombantine the Goomba gladiator confronts Mario and tells them to meet him in this secret room behind the barracks later. At the meeting Goombantine explains that he plans to organize an uprising to get out of here and asks if Mario would help him prepare for it. Before the meeting is over, Goombantine asks Mario to tell the other gladiators to about his plans as the first preparation. So between fights Mario would go around to the various gladiators. After one of the fights, Wario and Waluigi (Sorry, I did not draw them for there isn't much room for them, but don't worry. I'll eventually draw them(probably in Chapter 8) who know what Mario is collecting and want the instruments for themselves, and for no discernible reason remember their last fight with you, jump into the arena. So that means they have a new trick up their sleeves. They fight, Mario wins (or by chance, you could lose), and The Wario "bros." scurry off swearing they get Mario next time. After all that and telling all the gladiators the rebellion news, Goombantine asks Mario to find this weapon here heard rumors about that's deep within the armory and tells Koopustus to join with Mario to help look. With Koopustus's partner power of riding on top of his shell, Mario finds the Ultra hammer. When Mario shows this to Goombantine, he says that wasn't what he thought it was and tells Mario to start looking again. With his new Hammer, Mario and Koopustus uncover a chest and inside is a down arrow.(This along with the Girlie hat you receive in Chapter 1 stay with you every time you go back in time, so you can fight the boss again, much like you did in Majora's Mask). Confused they bring it to Gombantine, who at first is completely puzzled by it. But then he gets a spark of genius and starts digging underneath his feet, which he finds a Banzai Bill.
So with the Banzai Bill you got in hand you take it with you to your next battle. There Mario uses it to bust away the wall and out pour all the gladiators, and mass pandemonium ensues. Furious that the Gladiators have broken free, Octoberus calls out the ferociously large Hytail to lay waste to that meddlesome Mario. The many heads of Hytail all have there own Hp and the amount of heads he has left is how many attacks he has left during the fight. After you defeat the Hytail, Octoberus being the evil coward that he is, fleas from the scene. Mario gives chase but just finds that Octoberus's own guards stopped him (They were sick of being pushed around by him). As they haul him away, Octoberus drops the Kuiper Bell, which the guards tell Mario to take it as a token of appreciation. Thus triggering the "END OF CHAPTER" sequence. Then you get to control Bowser (Like you would with Peach in previous two Paper Mario games) who is in Countdown Town. With his story ending up telling you that the next Night Sky Instrument is in the Lost City of Muda.
Now back to Mario, who is waving goodbye to the gladiators, who now, with Octoberus's brother Novemberus, run the Clockwork Colosseum. Koopustus, understanding the gravity of the situation Mario and pals are going through decides that Mario could not accomplish this task without his strength. So now Mario has eight party members who now have three instrument out of 7.
Yep, that sums up my idea. And I'm amazed that you read the whole thing! Unless you cheated and skipped most of it, you cheeky little.... Anyways, if you are wondering, some of my ideas before might have changed (Like how I got rid of that chef bob-omb for the Bomb Boo in the previous chapter). And if you are wondering, since this is like Majora's Mask, you can go back in time anytime you want, and you can "redo" chapters as some side quest will need those story arcs to be complete.

A Paper Mario version of the Hydra? Interesting!
