this is a direct homage to masamune shirow’s cover for his 1992 artbook Intron Depot 1.
as a young lad, seeing this cover (printed really small on an article in Wizard magazine) blew my impressionable mind. manga wasn’t as globally popular back in the early nineties, and being exposed to sexy sci-fi ladies was certainly out of my realm of experience. now that i'm a grown-ass man, i decided to pay tribute to one of my earliest artistic influences. particularly this image that made such a huge impact on me all these decades past. hope i was able to do it justice. shirow is bonkers, man.

I had never heard of Intron Depot till I saw your image, though I am a huge fan of Shirow Masamune and Ghost in the Shell. I bought a copy online and it just arrived today. Thank you for your awesome homage!!
