I just realzed my last update was in December of 2016.

I did end up going to the Standing Rock Reservation with other vets.  I have a few pictures posted under the album No DAPL in my gallery, and I wrote an essay about my experience on my Facebook Photography page.

On May 1, 2017, I married my wife.  It's been amazing to be in a relationship where someone actually loves you and treats you like they do, as opposed to living with someone who treats you like a roommate and keeps you around because they're scared to be alone.

In September of 2017, we moved back to Northern California because we were having a rough time out in NC without help, and my family offered help.  Turns out, living in NC without family help was far easier and better for us than living in California with help, so in July of 2018, we moved back to NC.  Last year was also my last year in the Army, which I have found to be a blessing and a curse.  While I enjoy my freedom from the government, I've found myself picking up my camera less and less.

Last year, my wife told me she wanted a handmade rainbow hat for our anniversary, so I picked up crochet hooks and taught myself how to crochet after almost 20 years of not doing it.  Turns out, I have a knack for crochet, and i have a few people waiting on hats as we speak.  I'm looking in to expanding my money making opportunities in to that field.

While waiting for my house to sell, which should be going on the market in the next few weeks, we are staying with a friend.  Part of me wanted to go back to my old house, as it has amazing memories in it, but they're overshadowed by the terrible memories of my ex husband who lived there with me.  So I decided to sell, and have a fresh start with my family in a new (to us) house.  The wife and I are looking at houses near the Carolina Coast.

30 is creeping up on me this year, so I decided to start getting my life together and get serious.  I'm going to start going to the VA, get back in to exercising, eat better.  I started playing with new photography techniques.  Just waiting to see where this year takes me.

I hate to sound beggy, but if anyone has any extra points laying around, I'd love to have a Core Membership again.

I think we're caught up.  How've y'all been?

The other day, I tried out "Free Lensing." The pictures turned out way better than I had anticipated, and I might be in love!

I just realized my last journal update was in December of 2016.

I did end up going with other Veterans to the Standing Rock Reservation.  I have a few photos up under the No DAPL folder in my gallery.  I also wrote an essay about it, located on my Facebook photography page.

On May 1, 2017, I married my wife.  It's been amazing ever since, to know what it feels like to be in a loving and caring relationship, and living with someone who actually cares about you, and not just wanting you around because they're lonely and afraid to be alone.

In September 2017, we moved back to Northern California. If I thought struggling in North Carolina, without family help, was hard, boy was I stupid.  California with family was harder than North Carolina alone.  So July of last year we moved back.  Also last year was my last year in the military, and that's been both a blessing and a curse. I love the freedom of being out, but that also meant I began picking up my camera less and less.

We're living life in limbo at the moment.  Staying with a friend until my old house sells. It goes on the market within the next few weeks.  Part of me wanted to move back in to it, but the other part of me wants to put my old life behind me, forget about it and move on. So the wife and I are looking at houses on the coast.

Creeping up on my 30th, yea, that's happening this year. I've been trying to make everything about my life better.  Go to the VA, start working out again, eat better, etc.

I started crocheting again, taught myself how to do it again after not touching a hook since I was 10, after my wife said last year for her birthday that she wanted a rainbow beanie.  I've made a few hats and such, and have found that people want to buy my hats, so I'm looking in to expanding in to that field.

And, I think we're about all caught up!  How have y'all been doing?

Hanging Out
I was in a slump, and holed up in my room playing Red Dead Redemption 2, when my wife texted me to get my *ss outside and take some pictures!  And I'm glad I did.
