A concise guide on how to get better at art
So you’re a kid looking down at your anime or comic characters and wondering why after a few years of doodling things aren’t looking like how you imagine them in your head. Or maybe you’re a college student who’s wondering why the colours in your paintings aren’t coming out right. Maybe you’re an older fellow or lady who’s dabbling in art and you’re having trouble with drawing hands. Whoever you are and whatever your problem, you all have something in common;
You want to get better at representational art.
Here on deviantart it’s often the case where a noobie will ask a question and another noobie will answer with the very uninspired answer of "practice practice practice." At its core this advice is sound, but the noobie-teacher has just regurgitated what he or she has heard a thousand times over from other would-be noobie-teachers and has not expressed much else. Diligence is the key, but without a direction or goal this diligence might be

Interview with Nirma by Sandra
This interview is completly, totally in and all other ways the work of Sandra, AKA :iconsbraci:. However since she has now left DA, she has asked me if I would be kind enough to post it. Enjoy :)
1. Can you please tell us a bit about yourself, your art, and your inspirations?
I’ve been an artist since I can remember at the same time I’m still trying archive that very goal. My parents and I immigrated to the United States from Germany when I was seven.
As an only child not speaking English I drew to express myself, to dream and to hide in my private sanctuary. My Dad was an artist and he wasn’t shy about forcing me to draw. Cartoons (today’s Manga/Anime was forbidden it was drawing still-lifes, nature and the human form, exercises that where a daily occurrence. When I was ten I was painting the backgrounds of his oil paintings for $50 a shot and was teaching art to kids five years my senior at the local YMCA.
Thank God there were no video games or I mig

Interests
I haven't been active on dA in either commenting or submitting art like I used to. I had some personal matters that had to be sorted out. Actually, there are still some issues to be resolved, but at least the worst of them are out of the way. At least I have a job, even if the pay and hours are not what I hoped, but it it gives me some badly-needed structure.

I probably regressed after not having been drawing in a very long time. A combination of being frustrated and having other things I want or need to do took a toll. I still enjoy art, but I lost a sense of direction when it comes to making it myself and knowing what I should do. However, if there is anything you want to discuss or see, let me know.

Uncanny timing, since, it's been a while since I logged in. I hate to say it, but I'm not quite the firebrand in art like a used to be, and by extension my active participation in dA. Furthermore, most people that I watched haven't been active either. Other than that, I can't complain too much, especially after some extremely stressful events in my life are long gone.

Yeah, I pretty much am the same. It's mostly just to talk to others and post photos once in a while. I admit I am entertaining the idea of reposting the art I have on another account and leaving this account jjust for the real stuff. It just antagonizes me that all the art I have collected is just reduced to a bunch of paper in a box.
But there is a problem...
A lot of the art I had was never signed by the artist or instead of a signature they use some kind of silly symbol so I don't know how to give those guys credit if I can't recall their names.

Personally, I thought you should have used the Deviation Storage Tool instead of taking your stuff down altogether. It would avoid the headache in re-uploading and juggling another account. Folder could have been used to divide images by any category of your choosing.
