How did you make the collar?? or which pattern did you use?

Are you planing to make a bubble dress for yourself?
Misguided-Ghost1612's avatar
yes I'am :)
i'm just currently trying to figure out how to cut out the collar

I think I used just a square piece of fabric and pulled it tight over the wire construction. Would a close up pic of mine help?
Misguided-Ghost1612's avatar
THAT! would be wonderful!!

I made the collar out of wire covered with blue chiffon. Then I glued rhinestones on the fabric.

What fabric did you use for the bodice??
CheshireCat1's avatar
I used blue satin with blue shimmer organza over it.

WOW that is amazing, it looks really close to the actual one!! Just curious, what fabric did you use?
CheshireCat1's avatar
Thanks! I used blue satin and crystal organza over it
Misguided-Ghost1612's avatar
so just a plain blue satin covered with the same crystal organza as the petals on the skirt?
CheshireCat1's avatar
Yes, plus one layer of muslin and interfacing inside and the bodice is boned.

Cool! I wish I had the time and money to make a bubble gown...although I did make Elphie's act 2 gown for halloween last year! :) (much less expensive than sparkly Glinda, and much easier to find good (and cheap!) fabric when it's plain black you're looking for instead of satins and organzas ;))

Yor Elphie dress looks great. Yes, the sequins took me forever and I'm still not completely finished... It needs a lot of boring tv evenings ;-)
Actually I don't know how much money I spent on this dress but maybe its better if i dont know it :-)
This is a wonderful fairy tale dress!! Wow!!
