Wait a min--this is a REAL Albino Tiger? I read somewhere when any species of animal is born an albino that means a HUGE change in the World is a-comin'........

how old is my Totem/Power/Spirit Animal here. Do you know what yours is?

Actually, no. This is a severely inbred white tiger that rarely occur in the wild and often are very unhealthy.
boot-cheese-3000's avatar
"inbred"? How do you know this? Inbred animals rarely come out Albino from what I've seen. I had a friend who had 2 dogs that were Brother and Sister that had an incestuous relationship and the pups all came out like their parents--blacker than the Ace of Spades.

This tiger is not albino and a little bit of googling on white tigers would have told you this. This tiger is white because it carries a very rare gene that makes the tiger white. Normal tigers and other white tigers and golden tigers can carry this gene too, and they're inbred to result into a higher chance of white tigers. Usually, they have still very dark stripes, but this tiger is so severely inbred that the stripes are almost completely gone. This tiger is also, likely, full of health problems. Also, all white tigers are inbred and related to each other.

I never said White Tigers were inbred, I have NO IDEA where you got that, I'm no idiot.

So what you're telling me is that the more inbred a species of animal is the more likely it'll give birth to a Albino offspring? Also I'm not surprised if it has health problems, if it's that deeply inbred SOMETHING has to be wrong with it.

I said white tigers were inbred. There are NO albino tigers so far known. White tigers in captivity are always inbred tigers, not albino tigers. They're all related to each other and to two specific animals because that is how white tigers got in existence in captivity.

A white tiger was once caught from the wild and then bred to a family member, producing more white tigers. those got bred to their siblings as well, just to keep the white tigers alive. That's how you get white tigers. Also, they're not albino because they don't have red eyes and they still have stripes.

Ok this is pretty interesting, now they have to have red eyes in order to be inbred? And that's how they became inbred--through captivity? Thanks for the History lesson. :handshake: I'm sure you have more info to share but I get the feeling you got better things to do with your time.

No. Oh my god don't you even read!? I said that ALBINO ANIMALS have red eyes. White tigers have bluish eyes most of the time, like this tiger. THIS TIGER IS NOT AN ALBINO. It's an inbred white tigers. Inbreeding occurs a lot in captivity because white tigers (NOT ALBINO TIGERS THEY DO NOT EXIST RIGHT NOW) attract more visitors than common tigers.

Awww thank you very much :) <3, things have been a serious battle lately. I had severe allergic reaction to a lidoderm (lidocaine) patch for nerve pain in my back and had to go to the walk in clinic, then they gave me a combo of 2 steriods in a shot ...which I then had a severe allergic reaction to that, so they had to send me to the ER...well what they'd not warned me about before giving me that shot was that those long lasting (stays in your system for months) steriods would affect my blood sugars, and they knew I am a diabetic, by the time I was in the ER my sugars were at a critical level, and they had to give me some fast acting insulin that brought my sugars down a little over 200 pts in less than 2 hours...talk about headache...and said they only felt comfortable releasing me (they were going to admit me) was because I had insulin at home I could take etc. Well fast forward 2 days later back in the hospital again my sugars were in the upper 400s and my insulin at home was not working even taking double the dosage, they had to switch my insulin to a different one and even taking twice the dosage of that still was in the 300s and 400s for the last two weeks, wasnt until day before yesterday that I finally got numbers in the 100s and 200s hoping it will continue to stay in a more healthy and normal range (80-100) dr wants me at least under 130, closest I've come since the shots is 133 once. And my mom's gf was in a car accident and totaled her car 2 Fridays ago, and mom's car broke down last Tues trying to take me to hospital for sleep study number 2, so we are now without a working car on top of everything else. But I'm trying to stay as positive as I can and keep on going on. how are things for you? hope you and your family are having a great thanksgiving.

I rather not discuss my family at the moment, I'm seriously getting fed up with them and their selfishness, denial and b.s. :angered:

As far as my Thanksgiving not what I was hoping, I wanted to cook a nice feast but recently losing my job as well as not having any cookware for that particular task just soured that for me. I was still able to cook something delicious which was this:

www.the-girl-who-ate-everythin…

I would DEFINITELY cook this again! Next time I need to cook a lil' more Chicken.

Seeing as it's the Holidays and you're a diabetic (Jeez girl what ISN'T wrong with you healthwise?) this has to be the WORST time of Year for you having to be cautious and picky about what to eat. From what it sounds like these doctors wasn't thinking at all and damn near killed you with those steroid shots. It's bad enough that patch almost did you in, I can overstand how that mistake could've been made, they didn't know but THAT'S WHY YOU DO RESEARCH. There should be NO ROOM for mistakes like that, totally unacceptable in my book.

I'm just glad you're still alive and able to have this conversation with me. I'm also glad your Mom's girlfriend is alive as well, sounds like Bad Ju-Ju is swiftly running the gamut these days isn't it? Sheesh...........God Bless Us Everyone--no Tiny Tim. :please:

Yeah no kidding, yeah it can be tough sometimes but I was able to at least have some Thanksgiving-ish meal I'd gotten a rotissary chicken and some jarred chicken gravy, some green beans and dinner rolls and baked a pumpkin pie so at least it wasn't as depressing as it could have been. I actually faired pretty well considering that many carbs, my sugars only went into the 200's so not too shabby  (not great either of course) but i'll take 200s anyday over the 300's and 400's i was having those 2 weeks after the steriods shots. I'm sorry your family is being that way :( and i'm glad to be here to have our conversations also :)
