DOTW - Herb Hunt

Outside of this area, the battle raged on.

In this small area of peace, they wouldn't be touched.

Fellfang was unfamiliar to both of them, Atsila noted, as he followed after the burnt-pelted male's unsure steps. He called himself Dodge, and he was a Xassan. Intrigue lit up Atsila's exhaustion-tinged gaze, having caught the scent of varying herbs that riddled his pelt.

As he stayed back at their temporary base, Atsila had chosen to tag along as an extra means of defense... And to observe the healer's practices in silence.

It seemed as though Dodge had caught on to the younger male's interest, and had offered for him to participate in his herb search... Time was limited, after all.

No one truly knew safety any longer.

Atsila picked away through piles of clover, the rich, earthy scent replacing the distinct tang of decay that had taken what felt like permanent residency within his nostrils. A pleased breath left the red's jaws, intaking a little bit of the oncoming fresh petrichor.

In his daze and kind company, Atsila catches sight of something within the lush grasses...

Upon closer inspection, he finds it to be a feather of a magpie.

His mind flicks briefly to Orsu's elderly avian companion - but this feather has a fresh, distinct gloss of a younger bird.

His ears prick in interest, tantalized by the feather's beauty - and with graceful fangs, he swipes it up and nestles into his ruff for later.

Atsila returns the sandy wolf's quirked brow with a smile before returning his attention towards their herb search...

Yes - this feather would look quite nicely on her.
