Mt. Diablo South

This is the view from the top of mount Diablo looking south east wish over the Central Valley. You can technically see my house from here. When I went to visit, the park service had placed all these interesting plaques memorializing the events that happened on Mt. Diabolo. Hey, if it’s on a plaque, it’s gospel right? There was the very famous ‘feathered supernatural being’ that surprised Gabe Moraga and his crew in 1805, there was the ‘you sure this isn’t a volcano, right’ moment when a pair of ranchers rode in on a cave that was belching fire from inside the mountain, and then of course, who could forget the moment that the Black Diamond Coal Mine pulled a live frog out from inside a piece of limestone in 1873.  Coal mine, you say, in California? I think we can all agree that the 1800’s were when all the cool stuff happened though.

It can all happen again. In comic books at the very least.
