This is Bolinas California, the most nimby community I have ever heard about, and considering it’s right next to Belvedere, that’s saying something. Belvedere if you recall provided us with the most epic deer-costumed city council meeting in history. Bolinas came to my attention due to Corona-chan, because they’ve got like 100% special attention from UC San Francisco to get caddilac Corona-chan free testing for 100% of their community. Reasons? Well it’s to study a community that is, and I quote, “is rural (in addition to an urban community)”. Yes! they are both urban and rural at the same time. I’m sure it costs money to be able to do that. You wouldn’t be able to afford it. Also the residents tear down any road signs erected pointing the way to their urban/rural community that has pristine ocean views of the golden gate. Bolinas came into its current form of existence in 1927 when the place was subdivided into thousands and thousands of 2000 square foot lots that were sold for $69.50. Like thousands of these tiny lots. They’ve since long run out of water so there’s an absolute moratorium on adding any new houses on the many empty, worthless lots interspaced with the coastal mansions. In fact, on realtor .com there’s currently a water meter being sold for 330k. You can transfer it to another property that you own and get a water hookup. I think. I’m sure there are more hurdles. Oh shoot I just checked and it’s already gone contingent. Well in lieu of a city council meeting here is a link to the Bolinas National Anthem. Come to think of this, it might actually be a city council meeting. Props for 4:08.
Garage bands are banned on Eynhallow for a reason.
Aw man, all of these landscapes you’ve painted/drawn are absolutely amazing. The backgrounds inside your comics are just as immersive! I can’t wait until I can create detailed sceneries like these into my work as well. NJ!🤩
