The Rules

This group is for showcasing art depicting People of Color from movies, TV, books, comic books, fanfics, songs -- pretty much any form of fictional media out there. Got some fanworks to share? Join up and submit 'em here! After reading these short'n'easy rules:

  1. Deviations must prominently depict fictional characters of color.
    1. Prominently: not shown as secondary to any non-PoC.
    2. Fictional: from any reasonably available work of fiction. No deviations of real people are allowed unless from a fictional work, and then only of their fictional counterparts.
    3. Character of Color: Human (or of related descent) and non-caucasian. For example, Tuvok counts, but the Hulk doesn't.
  2. Please include the character's name and the fictional work the character comes from in (or clearly linked from) the deviation's description. If it's an unnamed character please provide identifying details.
  3. Current limit is five deviations per day -- we'll change the limit if it becomes awkward.
  4. Try to submit things to the right folders: each folder has a description of what goes into it inside on the left (whether it needs it or not). If the deviation belongs in more than one folder please note the submission, we'll try to copy it over.
  5. All graphical techniques & media are welcome, such as digital arts, drawings, and paintings. For photo-manips please credit the stock used. Quality counts -- we're not setting the bar very high, but we don't intend to approve every little squiggle either.
  6. No watermark in the center of the work, nor covering the subject (this includes deviantART's auto-watermark). Signatures and watermarks near the edges are fine.
  7. No nudity, no smut, no sexy-for-sexy's-sake. Hot is fine, objectification isn't -- we're looking for depictions that show these characters as people first and foremost.
  8. No bigotry. Showing bigotry is allowed, but any work we realize is wrongfully depicting or expressing animosity towards anyone because of their gender, race, sexual preference, condition, or religion will not be approved.
  9. While intended to hold this group to its stated purpose, these rules have been kept as simple as possible -- as a result of which they can be gamed. Any dispute will be resolved in favor of the group's purpose, not the wording of the rules themselves.

I'm new-ish at this, but I'll do my best. Any questions or concerns please drop us a note.
