this month's creature feature at wetcanvas.com

'Wemic
The wemic is similar to a centaur, except that it is half man and half lion (instead of being half man and half horse).

Wemics have a humanoid torso attached to the body of a lion (where the head would be), so they have 4 lion legs, and 2 human arms. Their front claws are sharp, and they can fight with both claws and weapons at the same time. The human part of a wemic has feline characteristics around his or her eyes and ears, and perhaps in the nose and teeth as well. Males are generally represented as having long thick darker mane-like hair, while females tend to have shorter lighter-colored hair.

Wemic culture is similar to that of the nomadic hunting tribes that populated portions of Africa during the early middle ages. '

her torso is a little thin for the size of her catbody and i gave her longish hair as she's either rebelling, is leader of the hunt or males could have even longer hair..i like idea of a mane that reaches always down to the 2nd shoulders.

Random thought..do taurs have 2 hearts, 2 sets of lungs...a very long gut i presume..2 livers? theire anatomy inside would be weird i think.

Nice Pict.

I'm Choosing to say that Hrliss has one set of quad lungs in the upper body, with a very large heart near the bottom of his upper torso, with his esophagus going all the way down to his stomach in his lower body. His digestive tract is large enough to fill most of the lower body, either very large kidneys, or four of them.. and a very large bladder.

Two hearts would be believable though as one, even a large one, would likely be overwhelmed by the sheer size of the body, wemics ain't small ^-^

erm, why did I post it? that was in responce to the question of internal anatomy.. at the end of the picture description. Just seeing if anyone else would think the same..

As far as why I think that way... it doesn't seem right to me to have double sets of what ever internals you have, in two places in the body.. thats sorta like an upper and lower brain.. I would think that one designed properly would be able to fulfill the needs.

I always love the way you do fur. And the lighting itself is very good. Have you ever thought about using a program like Photoshop or PSP?

paint shop pro i have version 7 but i use it for adjusting scanned images mostly, i have no idea how to use brushes and would stillr equire something better than a mouse...there is a wyvern either in depths in gallery or scraps that i coloured using paintshop once with a mouse.. its is very difficult, and besides looking intently at a screen for so long hurts my eyes. though i want to try with a tablet anyways.

XD i know..i think 2 sets of lumgs and 2 hearts would be handy..
no its not my own creation, as i said it's for a monthly creature feature on wetcanvas.com the forum guides and organisers take it in turns to pick a creature from some mytholgy or fantasy game and then everyone has a go at drawing what they think it looks like..we're only given a written description.
