Content Warning: Implications of Self-Loathing

“They won’t-They won’t like you! Or her!”

“Why-Why are they dying again!? Stop dying!”

“H-huuuuu…”

“Everything is hurting…”

“Huuu…”

“Stab! Stab! My tail must stab! The floor broke…”

“Everyone keeps staring at meeee! Why!?”

“Hate life…”

Hummingbird kept hearing it. Toucan was hurting. Toucan hated life. Toucan was worried about everything. Hummingbird had nowhere to go from the yelling. She didn’t know why Toucan was hurting so much. She asked the staxie what was happening, but all Toucan said was that everything was hurting. It started to make Hummingbird hurt… Not on the outside, but on the inside. How would she live with the fact that she couldn’t figure out what made Toucan hurt? What about Oriole? She had another person growing out of her. Both of them wondered if other staxies had staxies growing out of them. That wasn’t normal. It wasn’t the magic. That felt the same. She wasn’t sure what it was. Was this her fault? She didn’t even know where she came from.

Everything was black and white. It was all that Hummingbird ever and would ever know. But now it has broken apart. Her little world, shredded into pieces. Now there is only the void of the world. The world is a cruel place, and Hummingbird has learned that. If it made Toucan hurt in her heart despite Toucan doing nothing to deserve it, what else could it do? She growled under her breath. Hummingbird and Oriole would have to harden their heart.
