So I made a Shinx.

A long time ago, when I first picked up a copy of Pokemon Pearl, my original team contained a wonderful Shinx evolved fully into a Luxray which I loved dearly.

Much to my dismay, I could not find a free Shinx pattern anywhere on the internet, and frankly my dears, I’m broke and I wouldn’t really like to pay for one.

So what do I do? I freaking made a pattern.

For full bloggity thoughts and things, check out this post here for greater detail and plenty more pics to help you in your making of the Shinx.

Important note! Because I used Caron Simply Soft in Black, the size of the black pieces turned out slightly smaller in my finished piece. CSS yarn is just slightly thinner than Red Heart, so I would strongly recommend getting yarn from all the same brand. I was just lazy and wanted to use what was already in my huge stash.

Shinx Amigurumi Pattern

Materials:

Worsted weight yarn in blue (Red Heart Soft in Turquoise is what I used), black (Caron Simply Soft in Black is what I used), white (Red Heart Super Saver in White is what I used), and yellow (Red Heart Super Saver in Bright Yellow is what I used), and a teeny bit of red (Red Heart Super Saver in Red is what I used).

3.75 mm crochet hook (F)

Felting needle(s) - I actually broke one on accident while making this, it’s always a good idea to have a few handy.

It’s not like I got angry at the stupid eyes and furiously stabbed the needle into the yarn out of frustration or anything.

Fiberfill

Dog slicker brush

Gauge- is irrelevant for the most part as long as you keep the same gauge throughout the project. Just make sure you can’t see the fiberfill sticking out through the stitches and you’re good to go. Also I was too lazy to check my gauge as I crocheted.
