Literature Text

Lying on the couch,
Drained of energy,
Sickness makes me close my eyes;
Imagination free.

I see a girl curled up in bed,
Blinking sleepily.
She coughs into a tissue, turns
And drinks an herbal tea.

Cringing in disgust,
She pushes it away;
But when her mom comes in with pills
She drinks it anyway.

Her nose is caked and dry.
Her throat is burning hot.
Her legs will wobble when she stands,
Her fever never stops.

Lying on the couch,
Drained of energy,
Sickness makes me turn my head
And see an herbal tea.
Even after years of moving,
Changing scenery,
Succumbing to the flu once more
Brings comfort to me.

True story, loves.
Wasn't too sure whether or not to add that last bit to the actual poem, so I put it down here. Let me know if there should be a switch.

I drank herbal tea yesterday too. But I like it.

You could add the last part, but it kind of sounds weird to say it brings you comfort, it's more like being taken care of when you're sick is what brings comfort more than having the flu.
