Thanks very much to all the artists who use my stock! I am always inspired and in awe of the new work I see every day, and honored that they work with my stock. Here are some of my recent favorites!

Rules for using my stock:

Feel free to use my images (on this account only) as stock so long as you:

-Link me to the deviation IN YOUR ARTIST"S COMMENTS.

-Note me that you have used it, either by sending a note or by commenting on the deviation used.

You do not need to ask my permission to use my stock pictures before you work with them, I only want to see your results afterwards.

-DO NOT use my stock for commercial or published purposes (other than dA or art gallery prints) without first requesting and receiving a signed written document with my permission. When I say "commercial use" what I mean is something beyond selling your artwork or prints of it. For example, if Virgin Records hires you to make a CD cover for a well known band and you use my image (other than just textures or objects), I need to get paid. I only mean "commerical" in terms of something major and mass produced. Small scale commerical use, like making a banner with my stock for your Etsy account, is totally fine so long as I get to see it.
-DO NOT place images made from my stock in the photography section, because I am the photographer, and sometimes my husband Darrick.
My images are not in the public domain, they may not be redistributed without permission, or posted as stock on other stock sites. Do not make stock from my stock.

I do NOT expect a fee or require special permission for things like:
General use of my stock just for fun
Using my stock for school projects or classes
Selling dA prints, so long as the deviation is reasonably different from my photo (ie, do more than change my color photo into black and white or run it through one filter)
Selling your own artwork or prints of it in a gallery or online sales portal (etsy, ebay, etc) so long as you have made it your own (reasonably different)

Permission is given to post artwork made with my stock on your own personal website or on other art websites, so long as you always credit me as the model and photographer and note me a link to the other site. The only stipulation there is: Don't use my stock on a website that is intended to promote something other than art, such as a religion, ideology, political party, etc, or anything that is prejudice or hateful.

Permission is given for use in work entered in contests, so long as I am credited/ linked when you are able.

Basically, there is no fee unless you intend to use my stock in a way that is mass produced and corporate and generates major moolah, ie, something corporate/large scale. If there is still any confusion about this feel free to note me. Mostly I just want to see all the cool stuff people make with my pictures!

I do not formally take requests due to time constraints (I spend more time painting than taking pictures). However, if you want to tell me about a great idea you have, feel free to note me and if I like it I might use the idea, but I can't promise it.

And in general, when you use my stock, please follow dA's rules about appropriate content.

My images are not in the public domain, they may not be redistributed without permission, or posted as stock on other stock sites. Do not make stock from my stock. DO NOT POST MY IMAGES ON ADULT SITES. This is one of those issues that makes me hesitant to create more nude stock, which sucks, because there are a lot of great figure artists on here that do wonderful things with them. Unfortunately, there are also a lot of assholes. Do not post my stock on other websites in general if you have not done anything new and artistic with it. Please do not repost my images on photography websites. This is not art photography. It is reference and resource material.

I do NOT expect a fee or require special permission for things like:
General use of my stock just for fun
Using my stock for school projects or classes

Has anyone seen good stock lately of children in action?
There is not as much stock with children in it as there are pictures of adults. Of the comparatively small selection of child stock, the majority is still pretty formal looking: pictures of kids in poses specified by the photographer as opposed to impromptu pictures of children playing without being overly aware of the camera. I keep hoping to find pictures where kids are not just sitting or standing, but rather are in action, like playing on a bike or a swing set, playing a sport, playing instruments or games, etc. And preferably two kids interacting with each other, or a child interacting at play with a parent. These are the sorts of references I would love to find for my illustration portfolio-- if you have seen any like this would ya let me know? :D
