I have been on a very long art hiatus due to a variety of factors that include both good and hard times. Most folks would call it 'Life'. I have been overwhelmed at work and I have had multiple medical concerns that are finally being resolved. Turns out that high stress levels really can affect your physical health. Strangely enough, those medical issues may have saved my life. When we went looking for Crohns disease and found the early warning signs of cancer instead. Anything that could have become a malignant cancer has been removed and I can get on with my life. Talk about being shook up at a time when there are already so many changes going on in life. It was not that long ago that I lost my father to cancer. Life has been quite a journey since then. I'm about to be happily married to the woman I love and we have moved into our first house together. Such wonderful and exciting changes in life are what I have learned to focus on the most.
Magic Clam and I have just recently climbed back up on the art horse after falling off a few times. Cervidia remains our muse and passion when it comes to the art and nothing will take that from us. There are some serious wounds that made it hard for me to pick up a pencil again, but the people that I love are helping me back on to the art horse. They know what Cervidia means to me. It's hard to believe that I created the Cervidian universe nearly 25 years ago and that I still cannot imagine drawing anything else.
I hope my friends here online are doing well and I hope that you all continue to pursue your passions in art. Life really is too short and now I want to make the most of it more than ever. So it's time to pick up the pencil and the pen and carry on!
