The Chase 3

"Take this" the sailor said to Sarah as he produced a gorgeous gold dagger from a sheath on his belt, "You may need it".

Sarah gingerly took it. She stared at it for a moment, it was beautiful, the way it shone in the sun, the gem encrusted hilt, it was clearly made for display . . . but its blade was sharp.

The raiding vessel rapidly pulled up alongside the ferry.

The crewman who had given her the blade and reassured Sarah earlier that they were fine greeted the 3 men that jumped onto the deck.

One of the boarders, without even a moments hesitation brought his great axe down on the sailors chest.

Sarah screamed, then she froze.

What could she do? Surrounded by these huge warriors and sailors battling it out. She didn't know what to do. If she fought she wouldn't stand a chance, if she did nothing she wouldn't stand a chance . . . Maybe

Time was running out, it was becoming clear who would be victorious.
