What the colonel remembered by Cericonversion What the colonel remembered by Cericonversion
Learned this trick in diabetes training: fill a bottle half full of water and freeze it on its side. Then fill half the remaining space with liquid water when you're ready for a drink, and voila, much coldness. These gorgeous ice formations were a fringe benefit.

(The picture title is an allusion to the first sentence of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's novel One Hundred Years of Solitude: "Many years later, while waiting for the firing squad, Colonel Aurelio Buendia remembered when his father took him to see ice for the first time.")
