If you've been around my profile, this should seem like old hat now. I like to think Supergirl is a LOT more powerful than Superman. I have all sorts of reasons and arguments, but simply I think it's much more fun if it's that way, and there is no reason that their comparative size has any meaning with their power set. So, I vote with FUN.
This is another piece germinated with the idea of Supergirl testing herself against something that can test Superman (and survive such testing to his maximum). She lightly punches it, and BUSTS it accidentally. The artist liked the idea of the sort of clumsy, extra-strong, super cute take, and it fits right along with something I wanted to see. I purposely leave the pitches open, and encourage varied responses, and I'm overjoyed by the results here.
And this piece is just utterly gorgeous. First, her expression is just priceless. I can't get enough of it. And her abs. Woo. And she's got a nice overall build too. Just love it to pieces. I'd encourage you to wander over to his profile and give his art a look over and consider commissioning him!

Y'know, you don't have to justify Supergirl being stronger than Superman. They did say in the comics that she was because she absorbed more sunlight for years in that pod... at least, they did in pre-N52.

She's embarrassed because she was probably trying her best to hold back and not humiliate Superman again. She wanted to only beat him by a little bit, but she underestimated just how much more power she actually has. Oh well!
