Happy first of Spring, everyone! I hope you're all doing well, I haven't posted journals in years, but I have a lengthy rant coming up.
I've been waging a battle to claim what is obviously mine for one month now, and quite honestly, it's messing with my head, and I'm tired, and I'm surprised, and I'm feeling very, very helpless.
As a creator who publishes their work on the Internet, one is always aware that it is way too easy for anyone to just take your stuff and use it for their own purposes. But it's also common decency not to pretend that they created it, or so I thought. I believe everyone has searched the web for reference images and ideas countless times, but most of us will usually mention that they found the idea in question on the internet when sharing it with others, or even bother to contact the creator and ask specifically if they are OK with such use. I know I've done it when I really liked a font for my book, and many have asked me when they wanted to use my tattoo
