For a long time I’ve wondered how to portray the way Adenomyosis feels through my art. It’s so hard to describe. It’s like your insides are on fire, like white hot barbed wire is wrapped around your lower abdomen and it is cutting into your organs. When it’s bad it’s impossible to get comfortable and leaves you on the floor screaming in agony.
So few people talk about this condition and there’s shockingly few studies into what causes Adeno and Endometriosis. People with wombs often have trouble getting medical professionals to believe just how much pain they are in and getting diagnosed can take years.
I hope this illustration goes a little way to draw some awareness to what it’s like to have this condition and show some solidarity with those suffering. I see you x
