The Family Christmas Wreath: 1989+ - 2016 by CCB-18 The Family Christmas Wreath: 1989+ - 2016 by CCB-18
Seems that this year, my family has had to say goodbye to another old friend...only this time it's the family's Christmas Wreath that's getting the boot. Wreath bye, bye

X-Mas Wreath We've had it as long as I've been around (maybe even more) and it was always the first decoration to go up during Christmas, along with the outside lights, and the last one one to come down in the New Year. :) (Smile) X-Mas Wreath

Then out of the blue, my folks announced they were getting a new one. I think I've fainted.

Now mum promised me that I could have the family wreath when I got my own dwelling (as long as we kept it in the attic till then), but dad went over her and decided to throw it out because it was falling apart or (in this case) moulting.
I mean, all it needed were a few small fir cones, a bit of artificial evergreen and some good strong glue and it would be good as new. (Sadly all the glues dad tried seem to fail)

I blame all this on our new front door/the manufacturers of the door, as we've had our front door changed a few times over the last couple of years and up till now we were able to hang the wreath up on the top of the door by use of a hook made from a wire coat hanger, and some unused holes in the door's top edge, hidden under the rubber cushions of the door's cutters. Only this new door was causing us problems with hanging it as the gutter didn't have and proper holes and the wreath kept falling down a few times.Spideys Christmas Wreath  CURSE YOU!

Mum and I tried to salvage it, but dad saw now further point in retaining it. Freddy's Nope Chat Icon (In the end, I gave it to a charity shop, knowing I could try to prevent it getting trashed)

So far thee well, old yuletide friend. Sad Parting I hope your new owners treat you as well as we did....:christmaswreath: Sad Angel
