''Saving Rosie'' Stamp by CCB-18 ''Saving Rosie'' Stamp by CCB-18
This is part of my effort to restore Rosie to her original beautiful coat, for future series.

As I've said too many times since JBS that the whole idea of Rosie having a makeover into that rather revolting raspberry red is; Yea whatev :iconsaysplz:"Impossible" "That's Absurd!" "Unthinkable!" Speech Bubble Black Right Side

After all, if it was given to us gradually, instead of just thrusting it upon us, without even considering any errors or the general public's opinion, in case this makeover would turn out to be a complete flop.

Sure, the writers can give Rosie episodes and adventures for herself, but is a new look really needed for it?

To quote Tanya from the Lenny Henry Show; "I DON'T THINK SO!!"

And the main question is WHY?.

Why do this awful thing?

Why couldn't they just leave Rosie's paintwork alone?

Why don't they focus somewhere else, like trying to bring back characters like BoCo, Duke and Molly, or even those from the RWS that never made the model series?

After all, Rosie might be seen as Great Britain's development in the 80's with Nicholas Ridley, even with the protection of the National Trust and listed buildings; our proud heritage demolished only to have some monstrous carbuncle put in its place.

The majority of the fans seems to like the awful new look, but I have a feeling that they're; Lisa Simpson icon:iconsaysplz:"Blindly following the latest trend..."Speech Bubble Black Right Side  and not really thinking of the consequences and the flaws that came with it, as I've explained many times as well.

I only hope that this whole makeover ends up like the results this chapter in Lang Lang by Jodi Tong - turned out to be completely unnecessary and didn't do Zhu Zhu any favours whatsoever; langlang.keenspace.com/d/20020… & langlang.keenspace.com/d/20020…

Now, some have said that there are plenty of red characters on the series, as are there of blue and green, so what difference would turning Rosie red be? But it's the principle of the thing. The original livery was another step into equality of choices for the colours the engines could be, instead of being too realistic.

Again, the Rainbow of Liveries is the main pointer to be made here. Little glitter rainbow  After all, about a large percentage of Sodor's locomotives each consists of red, blue, black & green characters, with Molly, Bill & Ben & Flora in yellow; Toby, Duke & Bertram in brown; Billy and Murdoch, Annie & Clarabel in orange; Charlie and Ryan in purple; Stanley, Freddie and Harold in white and silvery grey and finally Rosie, lovely in Lavender. Take Rosie's gorgeous original away and it's all ruined.

I'm pretty sure that Rosie herself would never agree to anything that robs of her identity and of course; Gordon Not Amused:iconsaysplz:"The Fat Controller would NEVER approve it"Speech Bubble Black Right Side

I just hope that HiT, someday see the errors of this fiasco soon and restore Rosie back to her original glory before she fades away into the background forever.

I think Sir Topham Hatt should open up a wicked salt mine. With Rosie as its main engine.

I guess that red livery does look like Rosie's beautiful original coat was eaten/rusted away by salt...

What I meant was, Rosie is going to get a big, mean mug filled with your salty tears and drink til she's drunk.

Sorry if I sounded rude there, but do you really think complaining about the changes to a character in a kids show is going to help you?

Good luck with that. And while you're at it, make them change Oliver and Duck back to their original sizes.

Well, I'm glad somebody takes my point and doesn't brush it to one side...

But "challenges"? If I worked for the writing team (and believe me, I've tried everywhere to apply), I could easily create dozens of stories for Rosie — and I would never have to change a thing about her.

That sounds like they're just making a quick escape to avoid the "problem" they're facing...

...wonder if that's also why they got rid of so many other characters like Neville, Colin, Molly and Fergus?

I Don't particularly mind the New Paint Job; But It just begs the Question; WHY?!! why did they change her livery; what purpose did changing her paint job even serve; Why did she & would she choose to be repainted; What was wrong with her Pink Livery?!

There were in fact two reasons my friend.

1. The Awdry's weren't too fanciful of it.

2. No railway company would ever have pink as a livery.

3. Rosie being pink was a marketing plug to try and sell to small girls when all they had to do was just give Rosie a strong, fun, and all around good personality to do that instead of going for the cheapest route possible by making her Thomas's #1 stalker *cough* fangirl and literally nothing else.

1. It's unrealistic.
2. It isn't proper, nor formal, and incredibly ugly.
3. HIT had the goal of producing toys. They would do anything to sell Rosie.

1. No It's Not
2. Why ISN'T it Proper; and No I don't think it's ugly
3. So what?! That's the Goal of ANY major Company, to sell their Products to get Money from them!!

1. Name one real life engine you've seen painted pink. In fact, no engine would ever be painted in a color that bright because you'd have to clean it every day due to visible soot and coal dust.

2. Because it just isn't. People who ride in engines and the people who built them would rather ride in the elegant apple green or royal blue or the wartime black. Its just how it is. YOU don't think its ugly, but clearly engine builders didn't. IN FACT Rosie very likely served in WW2. No way the U.S. Army would have such a livery on their engine.

3. Yeah but it's very cheap and dumb and extremely lazy. An engine like Rosie should not be judged by her paintwork, rather she should be judged by how she was as a character.
