Created this gal a couple of years ago , the first time I've actually ever rendered a version of Edgar Rice Burrough's Barsoomian princess , Dejah Thoris ; aside from my fanboy copying of Murphy Anderson's and Frank Frazetta's artwork of her waaaaay over 30+ years ago !!

I had originally designed her around a BBi Perfect Body Hispanic , but absolutely hated the way the jointing glared profanely at me , so minimalistically clad as she is . I was beside myself with joy when Triad Toys announced that they would be producing a Tan Version of their Otaku body - it was designed to be displayed with little to no clothing .

I was fearful that the skintone would not match the Mattel " Cher " headsculpt I had chosen to represent my 1/6 scale Dejah Thoris , but was overjoyed when I found that the color tones were an almost perfect match !!

Spent an inordinate amount of time bending metal jewelry pieces and engraving brass and twisting wires and designing the costuming , as well as creating weaponry - the blade of her dagger is actually the work of another artist - I merely did some additional grinding in order to fit it to its new haft ; but I am pretty pleased with how she has turned out . Would never have rendered her like this in 2 dimensions , so it's interesting to see how your artwork alters itself to fit the particular parameters - in this case , as a 1/6 scale action figure .

GI Joe was NEVER like this !!!

Fantastic work. It will definitely go in my Dejah Thoris collection.

forgive my ignorance but what are BBi's?

BBi's refers to Blue Box Intl's " Perfect Body figures , which they released as base figure bodies when they were partnered up with Takara distributing " Cool Girls " in the US under the name " Cy Girls " . The Perfect Bodies had great articulation and nice headsculpts , but were pretty hideous as far as aesthetics go .

Holy crap...I've never wanted to be an action figure so bad in my life! This is incredible!

Thanks , she is probably my most popular custom with action figure enthusiasts . I know I like her a lot , one of the few figures I've done that most closely mimics my 2D work . She's fun to hold when I am feeling particularly Kong-like .
